AfBAA was formed in 2012 as a not-for-profit association that promotes the benefits of business aviation for Africa's economic development and prosperity.

The African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) is pleased to announce that it has elected a new leadership team to steer its affairs for the next five years. The new appointees are Mrs Alcinda
Pereira, as Chairperson and Mr Gavin Kiggen, as Vice-Chairperson & Treasurer. They were elected
during an AfBAA meeting just held during EBACE in Geneva and their appointments take effect at the end of May 2023. Notably, Alcinda Pereira is AfBAA’s first female Chairperson.

Outgoing AfBAA Chairperson, and CEO, African Aviation Services, Mr Nick Fadugba, said he was very pleased to hand over to a strong leadership team which should drive the Association to greater
heights.

“Vice-Chairperson & Treasurer, Mr JP Fourie, Executive Director of NAC, South Africa, and I are
pleased to leave the Association in a much better financial position than we found it in May 2018 and to have been able to restructure and reposition AfBAA for future growth. Key focus areas have been to build relationships with African and international Civil Aviation Authorities; grow AfBAA’s membership and improve aviation safety in Africa’s business and general aviation industry. In this regard, establishing closer links with the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) which promotes the IS-BAH and IS-BAO air safety programmes has been a major goal.”

Ms Sam Keddle, Manager, AfBAA, says: “We at AfBAA would like to say a huge thank you to Mr
Fadugba and Mr JP Fourie for all their hard work and tireless commitment over the years to bring
AfBAA to where it is today. Both Mr Fadugba and Mr Fourie will remain as Directors on the AfBAA Board.”

Mrs Alcinda Pereira brings with her extensive experience as a Co-Founder of BestFly Angola, a
business aviation operator and ground handling service, together with her international experience
from NetJets Europe and EXXON where she worked as Chief of Department. As Co-Founder, Vice
Chairperson and Executive Director of BestFly, she oversaw the company’s growth from its operations in Angola expanding into Portugal, Aruba, UAE, Cabo Verde, and Austria.

Mr Gavin Kiggen is a highly experienced industry professional with over 34 years’ experience in all
