Embraer Executive Jets has officially announced a monumental $7 billion order from Flexjet, a prominent fractional aircraft provider, marking the largest single order in Flexjet’s nearly three-decade history. This comprehensive agreement entails firm orders for 182 aircraft, which will include a strategic mix of Phenom 300E light jets and Praetor 500 and 600 midsize jets. Additionally, the contract encompasses options for an extra 30 aircraft, alongside a suite of enhanced services and support provisions. Deliveries of these aircraft are slated to commence in the forthcoming year and are projected to extend through 2030.
This significant order is poised to nearly double the size of Flexjet’s fleet by 2031, further solidifying its position within the fractional ownership market. The long-standing relationship between Embraer and Flexjet is noteworthy; Flexjet has previously acted as the launch customer for several key Embraer aircraft models, including the Legacy 600 in 2003, the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016, and the Praetor 500 in 2019.
Michael Silvestro, Chief Executive Officer of Flexjet, emphasized that the Praetor 600 has been exceptionally well-received in the European market, which led to its strategic inclusion in the company’s North American fleet beginning in 2023. He remarked that the organization’s pilots and maintenance technicians possess a profound understanding and familiarity with the operational nuances associated with these aircraft types.
Michael Amalfitano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Embraer Executive Jets, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Flexjet’s renewed commitment to Embraer through this extensive purchase agreement. He articulated that this partnership not only strengthens their strategic alliance but also creates an opportunity for a larger number of fractional owners to experience access to Embraer’s industry-leading Phenom jets and the unparalleled performance of its best-in-class Praetor models. This collaboration signifies a proactive advancement in the landscape of business aviation services.
